The Nest Home Cafe, Feels like Going Back Home

Another one that should never be missed in Canggu, The Nest Home Cafe. Well, this place did deserve to be called home. Its Kinfolk-ish look absolutely made you feel like you simply wanted to sit and stay there, spending your minutes as long as possible, just like you didn't have to leave. Even before entering the door, my friends and I were already very excited, looking at it from a distance when we just reached the parking spot. Using wooden floor and a long wooden table, the outdoor space already looked so Instagenic that you just wanted to start grabbing your phone, being exist at all your social media accounts.

Coming into the venue, my eyes were opened even much wider. Every single corner was just another one to fall for. All my friends and I couldn't resist to keep snapping. Going up to the second floor made us getting hypnotized even deeper by the minimalist yet sophisticated design. I was really impressed by the innovative and creative brain of the venue's interior designer, how she could think of arranging the place in a way that's able to impeccably spoil everyone's sight. Those simply-written quotes accompanied with simple snaps, gorgeously decorated the walls.

If you start to be curious who's behind the idea, I'll share you some secrets. So I knew from my friend that the owner's actually her church mate, who's indeed highly passionate in design, and according to my friend, is so artistic as well. When we were coming there, I guessed she's busy with one of her art-related jobs as well, sitting silently next to the beautiful standing canvas located at one of the corners at the second floor.

Good news for you who might fancied monochromatic properties, they did sell the ones which they also used in the cafe. This included the grey-ish stone tray and coasters.

Back to the ones most of you must have been waiting for the most, the foods and drinks. So actually, prior to come to The Nest, my friends and I have dined in several places, causing most of us to be bloated. Each time we're reaching another new place, we're basically trying to find any empty space left in the tummy. As we honestly couldn't afford any heavy meal anymore, then we basically just ordered the light one. For the choice of dish, we followed the one recommended by the waitress.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich (IDR 30k)

Actually, I frankly could say that this light bites were indeed only simple combination of sourdough and cheese. So I simply couldn't say much. I preferred the sourdough to be slightly softer and perhaps the mozzarella stuffing to come in more generous quantity. The veggies besides the sandwich were great vitamin supplement to this dish, besides its refreshing taste.

What's best to have in the sleepy gloomy afternoon? Absolutely nothing but a cup of caffeine, and mine was surely coffee! I went for Piccolo (IDR 20k) while my friends went for Cappuccino (IDR 25k). The Nest used the beans from Morph Coffee Roaster, which I guessed I've never tried before or perhaps unknowingly have tried. It's pretty decent in terms of aroma and flavor, having slightly acid touch and quite bold coffee taste. The cappuccino was a bit milky for my palate, yet the piccolo was just the right choice to opt for. Satisfying cup to accompany my great afternoon chat with friends.

Hot Piccolo (IDR 20k)

If you're a non-coffee person, then you might want to try their Iced Chocolate (IDR 45k) just like my friend @yennymakanmulu, who's coffee-intolerant. The Nest's version was more into Dark Chocolate with less sweet taste. Though my friend said she would love it to be sweeter, my taste bud had to disagree this time as I fancied this sweetness level. Yes, in the end it's all about preference and your own palate wouldn't lie to yourself ;)

Iced Coco (IDR 45k)
So if you happened to visit Bali, The Nest Home Cafe's definitely a home to go back, which you certainly shouldn't miss. You wouldn't be able to stop posing and getting yourself snapped at each of the corner. If you're about to take white-based or moody pictures, you would doubtlessly get what you desired as well. Can't wait to be back again <3.
