Origin Bakery, A Slice of Happiness and A Cup of Gaiety

Oh wow, another new baby??!? Surprise surprise, the answer is a YES!! This time I couldn’t be more anxious to pay a visit, since this newly opened cafe is a baking specialist as well. Yeaaayyy, my heaven is awaiting for me to come!

This white-dominated space is a tiny bakery which offers mainly bread, pastry, cakes, and cookies. It does expand the portfolio to cover brunch menu, though the selections aren’t that abundant. However, I would say it quite a decent range, especially considering the space is pretty petite, serving only 2 tables for a group of 4 and a long table with individual seats. Yes, the spot is as simple as that, since I guess the customers are indeed more to those who do takeaway, particularly the ones buying cakes and bread.

Being very minimalist, funnily yet true it even becomes the point that steals my attention. It delivers the feeling of clean and fresh, a nice place for chilling and escaping for awhile from all the crowd.

Not only being a seller of the products, the house does offer baking courses and cooking classes to serve your passion to make these pieces of heaven yourself. Sounds so interesting and I guess I will try to find time joining it, fulfilling my long-sleeping passion.

Chocolate Opera Cake (IDR 32k)

OK, put aside my story and let’s go having some slices of happiness on the table! The first piece of indulgence was for the chocolate lover. This cake has the signature characteristic of opera cake, yet for me it does give something beyond the common one. I’m always in love with the rich blend of texture within this cake, having spongy layer as well as creamy and thick one.

It’s the perfect choice for those who are not that addictive to sweets, since the flavor does feature coffee, meaning the slightly bitter taste would balance out the sweetness from the chocolate. My favorite was the dark choco and almond glaze on top, which I thought wasn’t always available in other opera, but kind of the best part of this slice besides the coffee cream!

Cheese Cake (IDR 35k)

The cake that I’ve never gotten bored of. Yeah you needn’t call out that I apparently never get bored of cakes, but indeed cheesecake’s like my all-time favorite, which I perhaps can get all day long. Looking at the gigantic slices in the showcase, I took a blink to call the name out as my order. I even told the attendant to give me the biggest slice, making him ended up laughing LOL. Getting my sinful indulgence on the table, I was blown away by this super dense cheesecake! Exactly suited my preference, coming with the crispy crumble at the bottom. Seriously, this was like one of the best deal I’ve made this weekend, with only IDR 35k! I could even tell that if you’re not cake holic like me, you’d better share, but never blame me if you got addicted ;)

Hot Cappuccino (IDR 32k)

Hot Piccolo

Gimme an awesome slice of cake, then made it come with a cup of delightful coffee, then you would make me your forever loyal customer. I thought Origin Bakery couldn’t be more successful in bringing it to reality. Spotting that they’re using the beans from Morph when I made my order, I was hyper-excited to sip my order. I firstly enjoyed these beans at Coarse and Fine, and it has become one of my favorite afterwards. Knowing it’s pretty strong, I opted for the Hot Cap while my friend picked the Piccolo. It turned out as satisfying as my expectation; a bold and aromatic one with smooth finishing. Oh dear, thanks for making my day!

Not being too far from my area, I’ve marked Origin Bakery as my place-to-routinely-visit. With the booming trend of coffee shops lately, I would rarely find myself going to the same coffee shop for multiple times, yet this one surely deserved the different treatment, able to offer me my complete package of gaiety!
